Most firms in Macedonia lack links to international supply chains and buyers, as well as the knowledge and ability to meet market requirements in terms of response time.
The Competitiveness Project is addressing this by:
- Organizing for effective participation in international trade fairs and business-to-business fairs, as well as providing technical support in meeting customer requirements.
- Seek to link potential foreign investors and anchor firms with local suppliers.
- Strengthening the capacity of local business service providers (BSPs) to help local firms with marketing, buyer outreach, meeting standards and improving processes such as supply chain management.
The overall result of these activities would bring a systemic change over time involves enterprises organizing themselves to prioritize export markets, and an emerging market for business support services. |
