Workforce development
MCP activities help bridge the gap between supply and demand of skilled labor to meet the needs of Macedonian employers, including:
National Internship and Job Placement Program (NIJP) and its MyCareer.com.mk website, which offers
- pre-placement writing and job application skills training for students and job seekers and training for career mentors and human resources staff
- online matchmaking to bring companies, job seekers, students and career counselors together
- post-placement services to guide career development and identify specific knowledge or skills to be incorporated into education curricula.
The MyCareer portal has led to hundreds of job placements, increasing every month.
Training and certification of Global Career Development Facilitators to assist in designing, delivering and evaluating career guidance services in educational and employment facilities, including career development centers and human resources strategies.
National Workforce Development Task Force to tackle labor market issues through collaboration between businesses, government, training and educational institutions.
Training and certification programs targeting skills and qualifications gaps in a particular industry or sector, as identified by MCP through its work in the marketplace. These training programs often lead to globally recognized certifications.
MCP’s workforce development team is also addressing sector-specific workforce requirements through:
- use of the revolving fund to train new recruits
- short-term, cost-shared training programs, partnering with industry and educational institutions to develop curricula for a pool of candidates to meet specific industry needs.
- internships targeting students and job seekers with a particular skill or educational/vocational background.
These training programs support Macedonian exporters needing to enhance the effectiveness of new or existing employees, as well as potential investors needing specific skills sets to smooth out the investment roll-out process.
